Kunsthalle Lissabon

KL Kids

KL Kids is a children’s educational program by Kunsthalle Lissabon, offering thematic workshops based on each ongoing exhibition.

KL Kids welcomes children living in Lisbon to our exhibition space, introducing them to contemporary art and the informational, conceptual framework that surrounds it; offering them space and time to familiarise themselves with processes of critical thinking in terms of the aesthetics and visual message presented by Kunsthalle Lissabon. For each exhibition, a visiting tour will be prepared, followed by a workshop about the concepts and resources used by each artist. Every activity will be an opportunity for the children to explore the variety of techniques and materials available, and also to create their own worlds, fantasies, and dreamlike environments. The educational program also aims to promote reflection on the most interesting critical and social issues raised by the exhibited artists.

The whole development of the project will be entrusted to Maria João Petrucci who has dedicated her professional life to various projects that bring together pedagogy, art, creativity, childhood, and free play.

KL KIDS activities seek to create supporting resources for the development of the following skills:

-Artistic and Aesthetic Sensibility
-Critical and Creative Thinking
-Personal Development and Autonomy

Each workshop is offered to both local school groups and children accompanied by their parents. All of the program’s activities and events will take place in Kunsthalle Lissabon’s exhibition space or in the library of the institution. Participation in the workshop is always free.

Kunsthalle Lissabon is kindly supported by República Portuguesa / DGArtes, Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, Coleção Maria e Armando Cabral.
